I'm 99% certain my next vehicle will be an R Spec Gen Coupe. It'll be a turbo with loud bov so I can enjoy all the silly turbo noises. Manual trans (not because #manualtransmasterrace) but because, even though I love flappy paddle gear boxes, 8 gears on a turbo is way too much. It would be *waap pshh waap pshh waap pshh waap pshh* before I'm even doing 45. The infotainment system will be gutted and replaced by a proper one, massive intake and wonderful burnt/blue tipped exhaust shall be added. And I may even make a pilgrimage out to VIR for a proper track day.
Now to the important bits.. I'm walking to my local watering hole and need to know what tonight's beverage of choice shall be. *note: I'm not a beer fan and prefer my spirits to be mixed with one or less mixers. Ready steady go!

Drink would be either Any fruit juice mixed with Vodka or maybe a White Russian. Tastes amazing if done right. POOOOOSSIBLY a Long Island Iced Tea only if it's more Loooong there there is island.
Btw excellent choice in vehicle. Those things are going for a steal in the used market. I was looking at that and a G35 when I was considering a coupe because I need one RWD vehicle in my life. Never had the privilege of owning one just yet and I'm on car #6.

it's basically a Korean mustang. Less power but better interior and not everyone on the planet has 6 of them.

Fancy that - I was drinking polish vodka and sprite at my parent's place. May have to keep the vodka train a rolling this evening.
I've put a lot of consideration into it. I was heart set on the 500 Abby but something tells me I'd regret how unique it is and be regretting my decision shortly after purchase. The gen coupe seems to be enough unique and sports to satisfy both.

there are actually a decent amount of them modded around me. Most are manual turbos with burnt titanium exhaust tips and about 400whp haha.

Too bad they don't offer the 2.0T Track anymore, except in Canada :(
(The Track is an R-spec with a sunroof)
Is that 8-sdped auto a real automatic or one of those stupid DCT's?
And I agree about 8 gears being too many. Anything more than 6 should just be a CVT, although I'd be ok with a 7-speed manual in high-strung engines like Honda's VTEC (more, closer ratios allow you to keep the engine in VTEC mode without slipping out of it)

Titos Vodka w/ tonic (don't forget the lime).
Good call on the turbo Genesis. While good stock, the have so much potential to be a monster.
The one at SEMA 2014 in the Hyuandai booth was beautiful.

VODKA FOR THE WIN!!! Yes let that train keep on rollin'. You must never get off. OK get off before you bleed your pockets dry and be safe.
It's also RWD, looks better IMO, has more space, 100 more HP and a HUGE aftermarket. Can't go wrong with that choice at all.

That's about what I see all the time as well. Must admit they look awesome tho for some reason I'm kinda biased towards the 1st Gen looks.

yup, I defintely prefer the first gen aesthetically as well. The aftermarket for them is pretty good if you want to mod. But still, all the ones around me are similar lol.

I hear the manual transmissions are made from breakaway glass though...
Something about the manuals having a fatal flaw anyway. Could also just be the 1st gems.
I agree I do like those quite a bit.

I was just looking at these like 2 days ago! Except for me, I would like the DI 3.8. I don't know why, probably for the revs. I miss the top end of a free-revving NA setup.

Burnt/Blue-tipped exhaust.. *shudders*
To each their own..
Don't be surprised to find one of these stickers in the "people that purchased this item also purchased" section.

Excellent choice Sir as I am totally not biased to your decision... Lol. Hope you enjoy it. Getting the HP up will be easy. You make me want a bov now...

I love the Gen coupe but could never pull the trigger on one, they're like the "Jack of all trades, master of none" in the car world. I imagine its cheaper than the 2015 EcoBoost Mustang? Those are worth looking at, too. I know soon everyone and their dog will have a 2015 Mustang but I can't stop thinking they're one of the sexiest new cars on the road.

I'll take the 2015 Mustang interior over the Gen Coupe but I agree if we are talking about 2014 and older.

I test drove a Turbo R-Spec before I got my FoST, I was pleasantly surprised with it. However, Hyundai did the stupidest thing ever by deleting cruise control on the R-Spec.

Good choice. My mom has one with the v6. Fun car. Hers is a custom color though. The same blue as a Lexus IsF

why not 370Z Nismo

from what I've seen they're all pretty expensive. R Spec turbo in the new body style is only 2013 and 14. 15 is only the v6 so by the time I buy later this year it'll be low 20's . All the nismos I've seen were mid to upper 20s 30's. I will say I do like the roadster appeal better though. If I found a cheap enough one I may jump on it.

Doing a quick search reveals that 370 Nismos are in the upper 20s, but 350 Nismos are in the lower 20s, and that seems like an attractive deal.

I would research if a dump to air blowoff valve fucks the car up. It does for subarus and most cars that are set up to recirc.

At that point why not just a 370Z Sport.
Nismo is kind of pointless IMO. More money for nothing but a body kit that weighs the car down to a point where it's actually slower despite more power.

oh of course plenty of reasearch will be done. I don't know if they use waste gates or bov's but you could hear it under heavy enough throttle once shifting.
It's silly but something about it is so wonderful.

in my WRX i had a Forge BPV (bypass valve) and it gave that noise but it was recirc still. Intake helps as well since recirc valve send the air back into the area of the intake.
Recirc valves are made so that you don't lose as much boost between shifts. Switching to non recirc you switch gears sometimes it gets ridiculously rich to a point where the unspent fuel ignites and causes you to basically shoot fire out of the exhaust, which is also through the turbo, and it can cause damage.
